課程概述 |
神經生物學為當代蓬勃發展的學門,為培養獨立的研究能力,同學需學習研讀經典的期刊論文,運用基本的數理化原理來分析理解相關的實驗資料,以問題取向的學習方式,培養獨立批判思考的能力,建立自己的背景知識並學會運用創新。本課程旨在訓練同學以小組討論、腦力激盪的方式研讀科學論文,學習如何設計實驗及留意細節,發表自己的研究成果,撰寫評論論文(Review Articles; The Introduction in the Thesis)。 |
課程目標 |
1) Know how to read a scientific paper in a critical way
2) Know how to discuss data with peer colleagues
3) Know how to design experiments, analyze data, and generate ideas by a brain-storming learning style
4) Know how to organize a scientific paper and write a review article for a topic |
課程要求 |
***本課程採實體上課,若有調整將另以email寄至NTU email address。
Time: 10:30 ─ 12:10 PM Mondays
Place: 1039 Life Science building
1) Preview the paper before discussion in class.
2) Choose your paper of interest for discussion at least ONE week before class and email the PDF file to everyone in the class.
3) Absence should be told before class.

We will discuss the original (must-read) papers. Everybody needs to participate in the discussion of papers, e.g., describing individual figures and sharing his/her idea at a random basis. |

Progress reports will be held for presenting data or submitting the abstracts to meetings. |

Review article for a selected topic |
50% |
The term paper is due 2022/01/17 as the format of a review article. The topic should be related to your thesis. For a review paper, at least 15 relevant original papers need to be included in 5 pages (font size 12; 1.5-fold line space). |
